Dr. Lopez-Dawson, Founder of Guardian Angel, has been awarded a chair on the Iowa Board of education. Her diligent work with children and families over the last 20 years have been instrumental in Pella and also as a member of the Child Abuse Prevention Council in Des Moines, and the former Vice-Chair of the Iowa Board of Psychology, she was appointed this State Board of Education designation in October of 2009.

Pella's Healing Touch Wellness Center will be restructuring its' services by implementing a medical model. Research and studies will be conducted to present results on how different health issues can impact the development of children in teens.
