The Angel Academy Arts Program for Iowa Children
Angel Academy is 1 of 3 non-profit programs sponsored by Guardian Angel, Inc. It will also be housed above the Unicorns Facility in Pella Iowa, and will specialize in utilizing the Arts as a therapeutic tool to help children and teens express themselves, grow and/or address issues that they may struggle with.
Set to open in the early part of 2008, Angel Academy will donate scholarships to
qualifying children and teens for their involvement in the Arts Programs. The funds that comes in from the Art classes, will be
donated to Guardian Angel, Inc to help fund all of our programs, including
the NEW Life Change Ballroom Program.
Initially, The LCB Program will take place in only certain Elementary schools of Des Moines, adding more schools as funding allows and need dictates. The objective will be to teach fifth Graders the Art of Ballroom Dancing. This mentoring program has been demonstrated to be quite successful in reducing behavioral outbursts in the participating children, and has resulted in higher school performance, and an improvement in working well with others.
